Axial Symmetries in Lattice QCD with Kaplan Fermions

چکیده
A lattice definition of QCD based on chiral defect fermions is discussed in detail. This formulation involves (infinitely) many heavy regulator fields, realized through the introduction of an unphysical fifth dimension. It is proved that non-singlet axial symmetries become exact in the limit of an infinite fifth dimension, and before the continuum limit is taken. ∗ Present address: School of Physics and Astronomy, Tel-Aviv University, Ramat Aviv 69978, ISRAEL

Dynamical lattice QCD thermodynamics with domain wall fermions
We present results from simulations of two flavor QCD thermodynamics at Nt = 4 with domain wall fermions. In contrast to other lattice fermion formulations, domain wall fermions preserve the full SUL(Nf )⊗ SUR(Nf) symmetry of the continuum at finite lattice spacing (up to terms exponentially small in an extra parameter). Just above the phase transition, we find that the UA(1) symmetry is broken...
متن کاملChiral Invariance and Lattice Fermions with Minimal Doubling
A few years ago some attention has been given to a fermionic action on the lattice, with a Wilson-like term which is chirally invariant but breaks the hypercubic space-time lattice symmetry. This action describes two Dirac fields in the continuum limit, provided the coefficient λ of the Wilson-like term satisfies λ > 1 2 . In this letter it is shown that for 1 2 < λ ≤ 1 the theory is link-refle...
متن کاملUniversality of the Axial Anomaly in Lattice QCD
We prove that lattice QCD generates the axial anomaly in the continuum limit under very general conditions on the lattice action, which includes the case of Ginsparg-Wilson fermions. The ingredients going into the proof are gauge invariance, locality of the Dirac operator, absence of fermion doubling, the general form of the lattice Ward identity, and the power counting theorem of Reisz. The re...
متن کاملAxial U(1) symmetry in the chiral symmetric phase of 2-flavor QCD at finite temperature
We discuss the fate of the axial U(1) symmetry in 2-flavor QCD at finite temperature, where the non-singlet chiral symmetry is restored. We first summarize the previous theoretical investigation on the relation between the eigenvalue density of the Dirac operator and the axial U(1) symmetry. We show that the eigenvalue density near the origin behaves as λ γ with γ > 2 in the chirally symmetric ...
